The last couple weeks have been INSANE, and I have quite a few pictures, so this will probably be a LONG BLOG. Since the last blog, Katelynne had another procedure (to remove the stent placed in Nov.), which went very well, Ed's brother, Gordon stopped by on his way to his new home in Newport, NC, both girls have (and are getting over) double ear infections. And that is on top of all of our normal everyday activity with two VERY busy girls.
For Valentine's Day, Ed had to work that night and since we had to be at the hospital by 5:15 AM for Katelynne's procedure and Abbie was spending the night at my mom and dad's house, we went and had dinner at Bojangles. Here are some pics of my girls in their Valentine's shirts...
Katelynne's procedure on the 15th was by far the shortest that we have had so far. From the time that they took her from us to when she was back safely in my arms was only about 50 minutes (just enough time for Ed and I to go grab breakfast from the cafeteria). She did very well, and they did not have to give her oxygen, etc. We have to go back on March 8th for a test to make sure her ureter (which they did surgery on in Oct., and was the original problem causer) is working correctly (for the first time in her short life).
Two days before Katelynne's procedure, Abbie started acting strangely, and I thought it was just a cold, but when she was not better by Sunday, I took her to the night peds clinic at the hospital. She had double ear infections. But while I was at the clinic with Abbie, Katelynne was at home with her Daddy showing the first BIG signs that something was amiss with her as well. So Monday, I took her in to the pediatrician---and she had double ear infections too. This is Katelynne's second set of them and I couldn't tell you how many Abbie has had, but this was her first set in over a year!!! I am wondering if we put Katelynne on an antihistamine if it would help her as it has her sister.
And finally, we had a good visit this past weekend with Ed's brother, Gordon, who is relocating to Newport (about 1 hour toward the beach from here). He has been on Mercy Ship's Anastasis for about a year and a half, so it was great to see him again. Abbie especially enjoyed the fact that he would swing her around. We are looking forward to having he (and his future wife, Jen) be closer...
