Just my girls...

The only real reason for today's post is to update pictures of my girls. They are so much fun to watch as they interact and play together. I hope that they will continue to enjoy one another as much later in life as they do right now. It is so cute to watch them play and laugh together.

Abbie, who will be 3 next Monday, is a very talkative, sweet little girl. She loves to talk and will do so with anyone, anywhere, anytime. (you do know what they say about the apple and the tree, don't you?). She is for sure a Daddy's girl all the way, although her looks definately favor her mommy.

Katelynne, who will be 7 months Sunday, and has spent about 1/3 of her life with tubes, seems to be having no ill effects of her ordeal. She is a great baby, and mostly very happy all the time. She loves to snuggle/chew on things--this particular choice is a rabbit blanket thing her Auntie Rachael and Aimee got her when she was born.

New glasses and NO tubes!!!

Here is a recent picture of Daddy and his girls...
As you can see in the picture, Abbie has gotten glasses. We discovered, after almost 3 years of her having issues with steps, etc., that she has an astigmatism in both eyes. Grandad (my dad) is actually the one that suggested that it might be her eyes, and so we went and had them tested. (Side note: it is not that surprising that she has glasses as Ed is pretty blind without his, and I have a nearsighted eye and a farsighted eye). She is doing pretty well with wearing them, and I think she looks really cute. She had her 3 year (where has the time gone???) check up last week and she is right where she should be in weight and actually tall for her age (38lbs. and 40.5in.).

What you cannot see in this picture is the fact that after 2 months, Katelynne is now TUBELESS!!! We have had an assortment of tubes coming out of our sweet baby, but they are no more!!! She does have a stent in her ureter that will be there until at least January to make sure everything heals right. Praise God!!!! She continues to be a great baby and although her weight percentile dropped from the last visit, tipped the scales at 15lb. 12 oz. at her 6 month check up last week(26.5 in.)!!!

Pumpkins, Swings, and other fun...

This picture is of my sweet little girls laying together on Katelynne's play gym mat. I just think it is a cute picture of my sweet little girls...
This is Katelynne's first swing in a "big girl swing", or any outside swing at all for that matter. Monday it was 75 degrees out, so we decided to take a picnic to a local park...and Katelynne got to swing too.
Here is my serious little pumpkin. Abbie and Daddy went to the fall festival/Reformation Day (the day Luther nailed the 95 Theses on the church door) celebration at church---due to Katelynne's procedure later today, she and Mommy didn't go. Abbie was a pumpkin and she had a really good time--Thanks Keith and Kathryn for all your hard work!!
Since Katelynne will be 6 mos. old tomorrow and is getting to be a big girl, we have started sitting her in the high chair when we eat and letting her play with toys where she can see us...she is waving hi to everyone.
At the fall festival at church, they had a pumpkin carving contest and here is the pumpkin that Daddy and Abbie submitted...it won "most patriotic pumpkin". Daddy says Katelynne gets to help next year. :)
