Farmville Dogwood Festival

Yesterday morning (before Daddy had to go to work), we went with Robbie, Amy, and Maddie to the Dogwood Festival in one of the neighboring towns. I have to admit that I am not sure why they call this a Dogwood Festival because I don't recall seeing many Dogwoods around, but who am I to complain about such things...
BEFORE
The girls had a really good time. First, we went to the kids cool tent and they got their faces painted (yes, Katelynne got hers too as you can see)
AFTER Abbie was able to do some simple crafts (beading and foam pictures).

Swimming Sisters

The other day, our friends Amy and Maddie invited the girls (and I) to come swim in their little pool. As you can probably tell, Katelynne was WAY more interested in the whole thing than Abbie (or Maddie for that matter). She LOVED it!!! She was so into it that I caught her "diving" in a few times and had to catch her before she drank the whole pool. I was thinking about getting swimming lessons for Abbie, maybe after this, I should get them for Katelynne...

the joys of hand me downs...

My mom bought these cute little pajamas for Abbie (Mom called Abbie her "little bug" and thought they were appropriate). Well, to give you an idea of the difference in sizes of my little girls, the picture of Abbie was taken when she was about 8 months old and the one of Katelynne was taken when she was 11 and 1/2 months old!!! We love hand me downs, and thanks to our cousin, Emma, both of our girls are reaping the benefits of them this summer!!!

Walk for the Babies

Yesterday was the Walk for Life (or as Abbie calls it, the walk for the babies) , to support the Carolina Pregnancy Center (a crisis pregnancy center in Greenville), do we got our walking shoes (and strollers) out and walked the 2 miles. They also had a lot of fun activities for the kids and food, etc. One of our friend from church works for the Pregnancy center and she worked very hard to make this day a success!!!
" I just know there is something in here and you get it out somehow..."
Abbie and her Auntie Bethany on the last lap
(we had her sit in the stroller the first 7 laps and let her walk on the last one)
Katelynne was mostly content as long as she had her bottle :)
They had a bubble wand thing that Abbie absolutely loved!!! She was so intent to make sure her wand went in just right.
And then she spun around "reawy fast" to make the bubbles.
*On a side note, they also had a duck pond game, which she also liked, but it bothered her to no end that the ducks would not stay bottoms down, so she resorted to attempting to drown them in hopes of getting them to sit straight. She is so cute like that...she loves things to be in rows...her Little People, cars, babies, she has to have them in order...

Sleeping Sweethearts....

For some reason, I love pictures of my girls (and I guess other babies/children) when they are sleeping...so here are a couple I have captured in the past week of Abbie and Katelynne... Abbie has gotten so funny about her blankets...they have to be a certain way and she loves that throw pillow to sleep with on top of Dora...
Here is my baby sleeping soundly...
she has had a hard time sleeping the past few days
(between teeth and ears), so this one is even more sweet to me...
she has BOTH her bunny AND her bear under her head...
it doesn't look comfy to me,
but what do I know.

Easter Sunday

My great ideas to get cute pictures of them on Easter morning, well, for lack of a better word...BOMBED!!! As you can tell, Abbie was not into this idea at all...Katelynne wasn't necessarily opposed as long as she didn't have to sit for it (see picture of Katelynne below). Abbie got better, but no smiles for the camera for Easter. The day was good though. We had Easter dinner (after they had their afternoon naps) with Dad and Auntie Aimee (the rest of the fam was in Fla.) and Robbie, Amy and Maddie (and Trathen) Quinn...

LET ME OFF OF HERE!!

I JUST DON"T WANT TO SMILE TODAY!!!

a trip to the aquarium...

I have a few minutes tonight as the girls are in bed (for good, I hope) and Ed is at work and I have lots of new pictures, so this will probably be a several (or at least couple) blog night...

The day after Easter, my friend, Amy, and her daughter Maddie (mentioned in a previous blog) joined us on a trip to the aquarium, where we have a membership---it is a great deal if you are interested. The trip started with me forgetting to get the membership card from Ed (who, again was at work and was unable to join us),which we discovered about an hour from home and about 45 minutes from the aquarium, so Amy called her husband and he got the number for us, and we were able to get in with my ID (the marvels of modern technology), so we continued on our journey. Here are a few pics of the day.
Katelynne's vantage point for most of the trip was from her stroller...
she likes to watch the fish swim around,
especially the big ones...
"Mom, would you PLEASE get that camera out of my face,
I am trying to watch fish..."

They both actually sit in the stroller at times!!!

Just some fun pictures...

I thought that I would post some fun pictures of my girls, mostly because I think they are really cute and like to show them off...so here you go...
Since her many hospital stays, Katelynne has gotten attatched to her bunny and bears...at naptime the other day...I caught her snuggling and thought it was TOO CUTE
Posing at 11 mos!!! (I can't believe she's almost 1!!!)
How big is Katelynne---so big...
This is today at the Easter Egg Hunt during the devotional time...the girl next to Abbie is her little friend Maddie (or Madson, as she calls her). A family in our church kindly hosts the church egg hunt at their house...Abbie got lots of goodies and as my dad (and I think grandad) would say, "a good time was had by all."
On a side note...we almost didn't go b/c it was SNOWING when we left our house...
it didn't stick, but I promise it was snow!!!

This is Abbie engrossed in Ms. Melonie's devotional...she was telling how the colors of green, brown, red, white, yellow and purple relate to the Easter story...

On that note... HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!---

hopefully I can get good pics of the girls in their dresses
