Isn't there a better way???
This is a deviation from the normal post about the girls, but I thought it was so nuts, I had to share with all of you... Last night, I went into Raleigh with Mom, and my sisters Rachael, and Bethany to let Bethany go to the Celtic Women concert and so the rest of us could do some shopping while we waited for her. Well, it all went fine (thanks to my bro-in law, Mark, who helped us find our way back). We were headed home at about 11:00 and had gotten just out of Raleigh (on US 64) and got stuck in the biggest traffic jam I have EVER seen. We were all praying for the people that were hurt in the accident (the first assumption for such occasions) and wondering what was taking so long...well, after 2 HOURS of sitting in bumper to bumper traffic (and once again checking in with Mark to see if he could find any traffic info--what were we, crazy, it was after 11--but we were desperate) and only going about 5 miles (if that), we saw a orange construction sign...but instead of saying "Road Construction Ahead", it said "DWI Checkpoint Ahead"...that's right...our 2 hour wait had not been for an accident, but because an army of police personel (we think about 50 cars, 100-150 police persons, the k-9 unit, the breathilizer unit, and a host of others) were stopping EVERY car. Well, let me tell you that I am TOTALLY AGAINST drunk driving and I totally think that those who do so should be punished, but was this the best way to catch them...I THINK NOT!!! The funniest thing to me was after they stopped Mom, who at this point is so annoyed, she couldn't think straight, and asked her where she had been, and where she lived, and if she had had anything to drink--which of course she hadn't, the man says "and here is a MADD ribbon for your car"...what exactly are we supposed to do with that...

Darlings and Daffodils (or why do I like my kids' pictures so much?)
First of all, let me explain a few things I had going against me to start with...
Katelynne has not been her usually happy and content self the past few days (we are unsure if it's ears, teeth, or some other issue)
It was about 11:00 AM just before lunch and naptime...which probably was not the best idea to start with, but Daddy was home for the morning and had to go to work in the afternoon, so this was our chance...maybe this was an opportunity I should have let go...
Mommy, you didn't tell me I could EAT them...
Just let me smell them...
What's attacking me...
I will sort of smile, just not UP at the camera...
(hopefully this changes before May when she's the flower girl...)

Proof we no longer live in the north
WHEEE
I know that it has been several years since we lived in WNY, but sometimes the difference in temperature between the north and the south just get to me. This morning it was about 72 degrees here, so the girls and I went out to the swing set. Here are some pictures of our fun.

a new SWINGSET!!!
We got the girls a new swingset the other day and they love it. The first question Abbie asks me, after she determines that she can get up is "can we go swing on my new swingset, I love it?" So, yesterday when we were out, I took the first of what will probably be many swinging pictures...
Spaghetti and Satin
Here are a few pictures from the past couple weeks. The first two were taken when Katelynne got a hold of the box of spaghetti noodles...and you can see the result. I just had to take a picture...
The second two are of Abbie trying on her flower girl dress for Uncle Gordon (and future Aunt Jennifer's) wedding in May. We got a good deal on it on E-bay, which made Mommy very happy...I couldn't believe how much a dress for a 3 year old could be before I started looking!!!

Mommy, would you please give me some REAL breakfast...this wood is kinda giving me splinters...
