Well, I have a minute before the girls awaken and I have to go and do more laundry (or maybe I am procrastinating on that one), but I decided to put up a new post on what has been going on with our baby girls. After several tests, the doctors finally decided that Katelynne had a kinked ureter (for you medically minded, a UVJ obstruction) and a part of her ureter which did not function at all. So, last Friday, she had surgery to correct this...basically they went in and detatched the ureter and bladder, took off part of the ureter, and atatched them back. She is doing much better, but she still has a nephrostomy bag (draining directly from the kidney that we have to clamp on 4 hour intervals) and a Foley catheter (which I feel so bad for her having after having one with each of the girls). She also has the PICC line in, but that is locked and at present, I do not have to give her IV meds anymore :) She has a nephrostogram on Tues., and at that point, they should be able to remove both the Nephrostomy tube AND the catheter---please pray for this... Abbie is doing well. She got to spend more time at Mimi and Grandad's while Katelynne was in the hospital, but Ed was also more free with his time so that he could spend time with her too. She is getting so big so fast. The last time I took Katelynne to the pediatrician, I had Abbie weighed too and she was about 38 lbs... We also moved the girls into the same bedroom, which I think they both like (at least I know Abbie does).
~The top picture is Katelynne on Sat. with all her paraphenalia (sp?) you can clearly see her PICC line on her arm and her catheter tube...
~The second one was taken this morning of my sweet girls...
~The bottom two were taken last Fri. as we waited with Katelynne in th "holding area" for her surgery to begin..we had to be there at 5:15, which explains her sleeping
