Cookies, Florida, and the ZOO
Hi, all, sorry I have been so bad about blogging. We had a good time in Fla., in spite of the fact that the weather wasn't the best. Abbie loved all the water we were able to go in (Auntie Joan's pool, the ocean, and the inlet); while Katelynne only liked the heated pool---it really felt like a bathtub. Since we have been back, we have been busy "having Christmas" with the Alder side of the family, spending time with Daddy (since he was not able to go to Fla. with us), and looking for a new job for Daddy. Before we headed out for Christmas, we were able to go to the North Carolina Zoo (yes, this state has only one), which was a lot of fun. It was an unusually warm day (even for NC)--about 70 and sunny. Aimee (my sister) was able to come up from Charlotte and meet us there, which added to the fun. The top picture is of Abbie and her Auntie Aimee sitting on the fox... The funniest part of the day was when Abbie saw the owl (one of her favorite characters from the Winnie the Pooh books) and was convinced for some reason that he was very sad. She is a very tenderhearted 3 year old and was very worried about the poor owl...it was very sweet.
Here is Abbie caught in the grips of the river otter...unfortunately the real otters were hiding that particular day, so we did not get to see much of them.
As you can see from these pictures, Katelynne has developed a love for baby cookies. My mom (Mimi) got them for her in Florida and she likes them very much. She also thinks that you should like them too.... Katelynne is currently struggling with her first double ear infection; I hope that we don't have as many with her as we did with Abbie... Other than that, she has gotten qute mobile and gets into EVERYTHING. She contines to think that her sister is the best and laughs at about anything she is doing (including sitting on her when Mom isn't looking).
