Florida, molars, and a new job...what a nutty life

Tomorrow night, the girls and I are headed to Florida for a fun-filled week
with my mom, dad and 2 sisters (and my aunt and cousin's daughter).

But before we head south, I thought I would post a quick update...
It has been kinda a nutty couple weeks around here.
Between VBS (or BBS), Ed getting a new job, Kate deciding to
try and get all 4 molars at the same time, getting ready for Fla.,
I feel as though I haven't stopped.

I think the last time I posted pics was from the first day of VBS.
Abbie LOVED the rest of the week too. She asked me for several days
afterwards if we were going to go again. I guess she is all ready for next year.

Ed has been looking for a new, more family friendly job for some time,
and has finally found one, or at least we hope so.
He is going to be the bookkeeper/comptroller type guy for a
local 4 car dealership company. The hours are much more
favorable (8-5), and the pay is the same, so I am not complaining.
While we are gone, he will work for both Bojangles and
Chas Management, but when we get back, it will only be Chas!!!

Kate has been working on getting her molars in.
Teething is, I think my second least favorite thing about parenting
(potty training would be first---that is if Abbie would care about doing that).
She has been up for several hours at a time a couple times this week,
and it is about to make this mommy very crabby.

Other than that, things are humming along... here are some pics I took last night of my girlies.Now...how do I get down from here????
Abbie doesn't seem all that unhappy that
Kate has gotten herself stuck, does she???My Abbie LouNow, let me see, how can I get on here???

I did it!!!

Gotta Wanna Needa Getta Havea...

BOJANGLES
Monday night, Ed was working and Mom and Dad are out of town for the week, so we went and had dinner at Bojangles. Here are some fun pics that I took while we were there... Abbie with her much loved headset
Like Father, Like Daughter
I can hear too, Mommy
My sweet girl
Abbie with her "tatoo" from VBS
(or BBS as she would say)
Now for a little bit of an update, things have been nutty around here, but I am really not sure why, other than this week. This week is VBS Game Day Central at church and I am the "snack coordinator". The girls both have nurseries to go to, and Abbie is loving hers, especially musit time with Mr. Robbie (her friend Maddie's dad)
Katelynne has another urinary tract infection, (the culprit that sent us to the hospital in Sept.) but thankfully, she is doing much better this time and seems to have responded to the antibiotic treatment. She will also be off antibiotics (after this course for the UTI) for the first time in 9 months. They have decided the stuff that she was taking to prevent them was not necessary, which is wonderful. This will hopefully mean the end to her constant diaper rashes too...
Ed is looking for another job with more consistent hours. etc. There are a few possibilities, but we shall see what happens...
I keep myself busy with the girls, house, church stuff, and other crazy stuff...

My sleeping beauties

Yesterday was Abbie's friend, Maddie's birthday party, and when I went to get the girls ready, this is what I found...so of course I went and grabbed the camera (I love sleeping baby pictures, esp. my sleeping babies)she always has to have her bunny and her bear...
we sing the veggie tales song "I love the bunny"
when we are headed for naptime..They had a great time at the party !!!!Happy Birthday, Madison Augusta Quinn!!!!While Abbie decided to sit and eat her
cake and ice cream in a civilized manner...Katelynne found some non-traditional places to eat it...
like the end of the slideand in the mulch with the sand box...

Abbie was COVERED in chocolate ice cream...
that is the brown you can faintly see on her legs.

You can't say she didn't enjoy her cupcake...

or was she trying to keep it from Katelynne

Why are hers so cute...

...and mine are NOT??? Now, before you all think I have lost it
and have really started asking random questions,
let me give you the reason and the subject of this question...
I was sitting in the backyard the other day talking
to my sister-in-law on the phone and
was watching Katelynne run around the yard
in just her swimming suit. I commented to/asked
Tara (my sis-in-law) why it was so cute for
Katelynne to run around in just her suit with
her cute chubby legs hanging out, when for me,
it for sure would not be...so to show you how cute they are,
here are some pictures...
helping Daddy with his bike"now, if you just turn this, it might be right..."

what a sweet face...

"I see you"

Playing in the Pool (or Not)

Ed set up the girls' pool the other day
and before he went off to work yesterday,
we went out so the girls could play in it.
The water was a little cold (some might have called it downright frigid),
so Katelynne wasn't sure she wanted to be in it...
Here are some pictures from the pool time
Mommy putting her feet in while Kate watches (from the edge) Maybe I should play on the slide...or not, it's too hot!!!
Abbie didn't seem to mind that it was cold...
she loved it (at least up to her knees)

This is Abbie and her leaf she found...

she asked me to take a picture of them together

" Maybe I will play with Abbie's golf clubs"
Future LPGA star???
" Now, what do you do with this thing???"
" I got it, you eat it...but it is kinda hard..."
" See, I am in the pool, I can't feel my feet, but I am in here..."

Our cookie eatin', ball handlin', bling (and shades) wearin' cowgirl

Abbie put this very silly ensemble on the other day,
and fortunately, I had the camera right there,
so here are some pics of our silly girl.

FINALLY HOME

We finally arrived home at about 1:15 AM on Thursday, the 24th. I decided to take a quick picture of our laundry heap...so here it is..

and here is Katelynne surveying the damage...

"you have a lot of work to do, Mommy"

Western Adventure Part VIII---HOMEWARD BOUND

The majority of our eighth day was spent packing and getting ready to head home. One of our bags on the way to Washington had exceeded the 50 lb. weight limit, and we had to pay for the extra, so we wanted to avoid that happening a second time, so we were adjusting things in an attempt to do so. We then headed to the airport, where we were able to avoid a fine, thanks to a kind ticket officer. Then it was on to our long flights home...here are some pictures I snapped.
Abbie on the plane...
she was fascinated with the safety
instruction cards on all the flights we were on...
maybe she has a future in flight???

The girls in their stroller on the tarmac...

our first plane was so small, we had to get off of it,

go across the tarmac and into the terminal.

The mountains around Salt Lake City from the plane window

The clouds above the mountains...

my Mom loves clouds, so I took a

bunch of cloud pics for her and

thought I would share one with you...

Washington Adventure Part VII

On Day Seven of the Great Western Adventure, we played "tourists" around Spokane, that was after our GREAT breakfast at our hotel. We stayed at the Shilo Hotel in Downtown Spokane, and I would recommend it highly...especially the breakfast and pool/hot tub. Mostly what we did was walk around the Riverfront Park, which was an industrial area that was redone for the 1974 World's Fair. There were a lot of neat things to see as well as a swing set/park that the girls enjoyed. Here are some pictures of our seventh day...It is hard to see from this picture,
but the irony in the sign is that,
anyone that would jump in here to swim, is doing so
because they don't care what the sign says...
the water is moving pretty fast and there is a pretty good current going byMy sweet baby on the swings...Abbie and her daddy on the Looff Carousel.
This carousel was hand made by the same man who
made the original one on Coney Island in NYC.
It is almost 100 years old. Abbie loved her ride. The plaque commemorating the World's Fair countries of 1974...
it was interesting to see that with many of
these countries our relationship has soured

the water headed toward Spokane Falls...

I couldn't get a good pic of the actual falls

Washington Adventure Part VI

On Day Six, we (reluctantly) left the wonderful hospitality and food
at Jen's parents' home and headed to
Spokane for a few days of touristing... This is the snow descending the mountain right above the Ronnei's.
They live at about 2300 feet.
My girlies in their sister shirts...look below for clearer pics.

Some things are easier to get into than out of...
